Inspirational Quote

I came across a quote the other day that I feel should be one that we follow to continue to improve ourselves everyday.

-Do today what others won’t

     Do tomorrow what others can’t

Put that somewhere you can see multiple times a day to remind yourself that someone, somewhere is doing more than you.  Push yourself.

Long Island Duals

Posted in Uncategorized on November 17, 2010 by wreckingcrewwrestling

The Wrecking Crew High School team that competed this past weekend placed 6th out of 16 teams in Long Island New York.  Winning OW for his weight class was Declan Deveney at 172lbs.  Two other wrestlers went undefeated with Steve Nelson going 6-0 and Chad Walsh going 5-0.  The rest of the boys wrestled well considering we were forfeiting 4 weight classes and we went 3-3 on the weekend.  This was great for these guys to get some mat time going into the season.

Team Wrecking Crew

Posted in Uncategorized on November 4, 2010 by wreckingcrewwrestling

I came across this post on one of the Crossfit affiliate’s website.  I think that it is important to remember why we all come together and train and that is for the advancement of each individual wrestler as part of a team.  The guys may grow up, go to different High Schools and compete against one another.  However, the time spent in between the walls of the Wrecking Crew we train together as part of a team.

Team:

A team comprises a group of people or animals linked in a common purpose. Teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.

A group in itself does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his or her strengths and minimize his or her weaknesses. Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond their limitations.

-Help someone go beyond their limitations!
